Scarlet - Chapter 2

Chapter two

The Discovery

Just hours after the attack, the police had set up a crime scene, to look for clues on what happened just hours before and how the men’s body's ended up like they did; As they started to set up, Carrie-Anne was just casually walking past the alley and noticed the police surrounding the area and she then asked one of the officers who was standing in front of the crime scene to block people out from coming to have a look, “What’s happened here?” and he then replied to Carrie “sorry but I cannot disclose any information at this time” So then Carrie walked off, only to go around the corner, to take her jacket off, to make herself more attractive to the officer, so she could get some information out of him. Carrie then went back to the crime scene to flirt with the officer and she then got him to come round the corner and she started to kiss him, but with all his training, his urges finally caved in and she got the better of him and he told her about the suspected murder and rape, then Carrie just stopped and started to think, but then the officer said “oh i found this on the floor, near our tent, it’s a button from a pair of jeans, have you seen one like it before?” Then Carrie was looking at it and had a flashback of when she was talking to Scarlet in the club earlier that night and then it came to her, she did see it on Scarlet’s jeans and then a tear fell from her eye, but luckily the officer didn't see it, just in case she became a suspect in the murder. Then Carrie told him “Sorry, but I haven't seen that button before” then the officer replied “Ok, if you remember anything come back and tell us or ring us up, it could help with our investigation.” As Carrie kissed him on the cheek, he heard a call from around the corner and it was his partner calling for him, so he then looked around to show his face, so he could make himself visible to her so he wouldn't look suspicious and so Carrie wouldn't get caught. As he looked back round the corner he noticed Carrie had gone, which made him a little bit sad inside, but he made sure his partner couldn't tell. When he looked back at his partner, she asked him for the button, so she could take it to be analyzed, as he went to get it from out of his pocket, it had vanished and then he soon realized that Carrie knew who the button belonged to and that’s how it vanished from his pocket. After he had lost the button, he had to explain to his partner on how he lost it and who he thought had taken it. An hour later the officer and his partner got called in to the Chief of police's office, “Officer Thomson and Officer Chalat, please report to my office immediately.” While Chalat and Thomson were getting their heads torn off by their boss, Carrie got back to her flat and started looking at Scarlet’s button in more detail and she had a quick thought, she grabbed a packet of flour and a small paint brush and slowly brushed the flour over the button and blew the excess flour of the button and put it under the light and out came a fingerprint and finally Carrie had a clue, so she took it to a friend of hers, who has the equipment to find out information from fingerprints and she then left it with him until he has finished finding out who the print really belongs to.

Meanwhile:

Officer Thomson, left Chalat behind in the station and went on the look about for Carrie, even though he has just got in trouble from his boss, he is still going out to find her because he is determined to find out what she knows, which he is hoping that what he can get out of her, will put him back in his bosses good books. After hours of searching through the city, he finally found a small group of flats, just behind an asylum, on the outskirts of the city center. As he got near the flats he saw a young and sweet looking girl, walk away from the end bottom floor flat, so he then went over to the door that she came out of and discovered that it had a buzzer on the door with a speaker phone, so you can contact who you want to get in to the flats, as he went to push a button to get in, he noticed that the door was slightly open, so he went through it and saw a staircase and said “oh crap, this is going to take a while.” Thomson then decided to start on the ground floor flat, were an old man answered the door, where Thomson asked “Sorry to disturb you sir, I was wondering if you have seen a young girl around here before, she’s pretty, with long shiny black hair.” and then the old man replied, “Yes, a young girl of that description has not long just left here, she knows a guy on the third floor in room (3C), anything else young man?” Then Thomson replied “No thank you, but thanks for your help.” Then he realized that the girl who left the flats just before he got there was the person he was looking for and then he rushed outside to see if he could catch her before she got too far away, but he was to late she had already gone. A minute later, he went back inside the flat and took a slow walk up to the third floor, to check out that guy the old man was talking about, so as he got closer to the guys room, he remembered the door number, that he saw on one of his boss's employee sheets, his name is Christopher Clark, who is known to be one of the best forensic researchers in Europe and also known for his dysfunctional family. So I wonder why the girl is coming to him, which is why Thomson is here to find out.
